About Adam
I became a Celebrant after having written and conducted numerous weddings and vow renewal ceremonies along with celebrations of life during my time at sea, and when I became a landlubber in recent years, these experiences drew me to the Academy of Modern Celebrancy where I studied and graduated as an Independent Celebrant.

This calling is something unique and very special, that once again brings me into contact with people to help mark their special occasions and it was one of the best decisions I have made, it is a privelege to offer an outstanding creative service to couples and families seeking a unique celebration in good times and sad times.

My Story

I am a professional Staffordshire based Celebrant. I trained at the Academy of Modern Celebrancy,
and you can find me on their register, the AMC Celebrant Directory. AMC is the most highly respected celebrant training association in the UK. www.thecelebrantdirectory.com/

My home is on the Staffordshire Derbyshire border in the heart of the National Forest with very close ties to the city of Lichfield.

I have been married over 40 years (to the same person!) and appreciate the joy of marriage and all it represents. I have one son, currently at university, and a sixteen year old dog called Elmo!

Writing the eulogies for both of my parent’s funerals and experiencing that personal grief and extended illness care changed my path profoundly.
I empathise with others going through similar experiences.

My Background

My background is in theatre, live music and entertainment. I am a trained actor, an experienced public speaker and voiceover artist. I love the spoken word and during my 30 years at sea as a Cruise Director, performer and producer (most recently for Silversea), I have visited all seven continents and have experienced many of the world’s amazing cultures, traditions, and ceremonies. As you can see from my website, I love the Ocean!

I have also worked alongside international teams of personnel who have given me a unique perspective, and distinctly inclusive and considerate outlook on life. I have played in a variety of jazz and blues bands on land and at sea and currently play drums and sing with a blues rock trio.
This not only is great fun but keeps me in musical shape!

I am a partner with my wife in Theatrics Stage School, a performing arts school for children and teenagers, founded in 2003 in Lichfield. We have always been advocates of positive development
in children and young adults.

What does the Cruise Director do?

The Cruise Director manages the entertainment department, introduces shows and lectures and organises and presents special occasions, services and ceremonies and is the voice of the ship who gets to know most of the Guests personally.
